Team Building Belbin
 

Belbin team roles analyses the behaviours of team members and identifies each member’s strengths and allowable weaknesses. It looks at a cluster of behaviours and the way in which a person has a tendency to behave, interrelate with others around them and contribute in a team environment. Belbin team roles provide a non-confrontational, non-hierarchical base from which to interact with others.

By identifying the roles of the individuals in a team it enables a team to recognise where their strengths are and to identify areas of potential weakness. This has a positive impact on the way in which teams work and allows identification of the best combination of personnel to help increase the team’s performance. Belbin can also be used very effectively in the recruitment process ensuring that a balance in team roles is achieved within the team.
